Terms and Conditions

Please read the following terms and conditions, and waiver and release of liability carefully before enrolling your child in any class at The Original Dance Academy.

General Policies

• Class Cancellations (Low Numbers)
  If a class is cancelled due to insufficient enrolment, all payments made will be fully refunded.
• Liability
  The Original Dance Academy and its staff are not responsible for any loss, injury, or damage that may occur during classes.
• Behaviour Policy
  The Academy reserves the right to remove any student from the programme, without refund, if they engage in bullying, disruptive behaviour, or misconduct.
• Medical Information
  All medical conditions must be disclosed during registration. Any changes must be communicated in writing via email to: [email protected].
• Booking Confirmation
  Your child’s place is not confirmed until full payment has been received. Priority will be given to paid bookings.

• Cancelling your Child’s Space
  A notice period of 4 weeks is required, after which your subscription is cancelled.

• Failed Payment
  If payment fails on the 1st of the month, you will receive an email with a Pay Now button attached. Payment must be made before the 10th of the month or your child will not be permitted into class until full payment up to date has been paid.

• Missed Sessions
  Refunds or discounts will not be issued for missed classes due to personal circumstances.
• Academy Cancellations
  If The Original Dance Academy cancels a class due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g. extreme weather or internal issues), either a replacement session will be offered or a refund will be issued.
• Discount Policy
  Only one discount may be applied per family. For example, sibling discounts and multi-class discounts cannot be combined.

Classroom Etiquette

• Parent Attendance
  Parents are not permitted to stay in the studio during sessions, as this can be distracting for students.
  Exceptions may be made during the first two weeks if a child is struggling to settle—parents can stay until the child feels comfortable joining independently.
  A “watching week” may be scheduled at the end of term or occasionally during the year, at the discretion of the teacher.
• Photography and Video
  If a parent is in the class, taking photos or videos during class is strictly prohibited for safeguarding reasons.

Waiver and Release of Liability

At The Original Dance Academy, we are committed to providing a safe environment for all participants and take every reasonable measure to ensure their well-being. However, it is important to understand that participation in dance and acrodance classes—like all physical activities—carries inherent risks.

Acknowledgment of Risk and Consent to Participate

By enrolling your child in classes and related activities at The Original Dance Academy, you (the parent or legal guardian) acknowledge and agree to the following:

1. Inherent Risk
   Participation in acrodance and other dance classes involves a risk of injury, which may be significant. While adherence to safety guidelines, appropriate equipment, and responsible supervision help reduce this risk, the possibility of injury remains.
2. Assumption of Risk
   I knowingly and voluntarily accept all risks—both known and unknown—associated with my child’s participation in these activities, including those that may result from the negligence of The Original Dance Academy, its staff, or others.
3. Compliance with Rules
   I agree that my child will follow all rules, guidelines, and instructions provided by The Original Dance Academy and its staff as a condition of participation.
4. Release of Liability
   I, on behalf of myself and my child, hereby release, waive, and hold harmless The Original Dance Academy, its instructors, employees, affiliates, owners, and the owners or lessors of any facilities used, from any and all claims for injury, disability, death, loss, or damage to person or property—whether caused by negligence or otherwise—to the fullest extent permitted by law.

By signing my child up to a class at The Original Dance Academy, I confirm that I have read and fully understand the above terms. I understand that I am giving up substantial legal rights, and I do so voluntarily and without coercion.
